Searching for the Best Massage Therapist in Indianapolis?

Posted on Friday, February 27, 2009 in Brandnew

As the weather gets colder, your schedule gets busier and your muscles get tighter, you might find yourself looking for an Indianapolis massage therapist.  So, which therapist should you turn to when you need a well deserved massage.  How do you find the best?

What Do You Want?
First, you’ll need to decide what type of massage service you are interested in. There are many massage therapists in Indianapolis and each has their own skill set.  Do you want a traditional Swedish Massage or an intensive “Pfrimmer”?  Are you pregnant and seeking a Prenatal Massage?

When you call your prospective therapists, be sure to ask and confirm that the massage therapist you choose has at least a year or two of experience in the massage therapy you are interested in.

Drive Time
Next, decide how far you are willing to drive for “the best”.  If possible, don’t limit your search to your zip code or your side of town.  Interview massage therapists in a 10-15 mile radius to increase your chances of finding the best one.

Is price your main concern?  If so, then it is even more important to expand the scope of your search.  Check surrounding towns and cities that are within a distance you’d be willing to drive.  Often times, massage therapists in towns surrounding big cities have better rates and offer specials for regular massage clients willing to drive a few minutes extra.

Your Pampering Quotient

Now, your preference for how pampered you want your massage experience to be will now determine if you call Day Spas or dedicated massage therapy studios.  Just so you know, typically a day spa has less experienced therapists because they pay by the hour and few experienced massage therapist are willing to accept hourly pay.  However, that does not mean you won’t find an excellent therapist in a Day Spa.  In fact, some of the higher-end Day Spas offer the best of both worlds, top notch therapists in a beautifully pampered setting.  But, of course, all this comes at a price.

If you want an experienced professional at a reasonable rate, your best bet is to call a massage studio or an individual massage therapist.  Most massage studios in and around Indianapolis are listed in the yellow pages or pop up when you do a Google search for “Indianapolis massage therapy”.

Finding an top-notch individual therapist can be a bit more difficult, especially if they work remotely or by appointment only.  Often times, this is where the “best of the best” reside –but they usually have a large client base and are booked for weeks.  These therapists have paid their dues and don’t need to spend much on marketing to stay busy.

Credentials to Look For
Massage therapy is soon to be sanctioned in Indiana so anyone offering massage services will have to be officially licensed, but this is not the case yet.  So, look for massage therapist with the following credentials.

Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) – means they have received formal training from an accredited school, not just a weekend crash course

ABMP or  AMTA Registration – these are professional trade organization that serious therapist pay to belong to

Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapist (PDMT)  – a specific type of “advanced” massage therapy requiring specialized training and certification

Make Your Calls
So now that you have the preliminaries out of the way, it is time to call a few massage therapists.  Your objective is to not only get your questions answered, like “what do you specialize in?” and “do you have any specials?” but also determine if the therapist meets your personality preferences.

Every massage therapist has a different approach.  Therapeutic massage can be a very personal & powerful experience, both positive and, unfortunately, negative.  It is my belief that a truly skilled massage therapist can bring your body’s energy back into balance and leave you feeling centered and much stronger than you were before you arrived. An unskilled therapist does the opposite.  Often times, a massage therapist’s level of positive (or negative) energy is apparent on the initial call with a new client, you just have to be looking for it.

Although the steps above may take you an extra 30 minutes or so, they will help you avoid wasting time & money on a bad massage.  So, take the time and be sure to find the very best massage therapist Indianapolis has to offer.

Essential Oils and Some of Their Uses

Posted on Friday, February 27, 2009 in Brandnew

Essential oils are the concentrated part of a plant after all of the water has been distilled away. There are various ways to distill the water out of the plant including steam distillation and by crushing the plant under high pressure. What remains are the oils in the plant and these are called the essential oils. These oils can then be used as either flavorings or, more frequently, for therapeutic uses. Sometimes these essential oils from different plants are mixed together to form a recipe to help with healing or for aromatherapy.

One pure essential oil that is used for therapeutic uses is tangerine essential oil. This essential oil is used for dietary, aromatic or topical use and is used as a calming agent. Tangerine essential oil is an excellent oil to help lift the spirits and bring about a sense of security. Tangerine essential oil is also highly enriched with the antioxidant d-limonene which is good for your health.

Another popular oil is sun breeze essential oil. Sunbreeze essential oil is a combination of three tree oils. These three ingredients are Cassia, Menthol and Camphor. Everyone knows what menthol and camphor smell like by their minty smell. Sunbreeze essential oil has been known to help to alleviate headaches, minimizes sleepiness, and help to promote brain activity. In addition, application of this oil will help to minimize muscle tension in the neck and reduce motion sickness. It can be applied directly to the skin or used in aromatherapy where the person inhales the aroma of the oil.

The Different Types of Membership Sites

Posted on Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Brandnew

There are membership sites and then thee are membership sites. There is an old saying that nobody knows exactly where it originated that says, “Different Strokes for Different Folks”. The old saying simply means that as individuals we have different needs and different expectations for most situations in life and membership websites aren’t an exception.

That principle applies to both plr membership website owners and membership website members. There are many different kinds of membership websites. Some will appeal to some people and others will appeal to other people no matter which side of the fence you are standing on. There really isn’t a one-size-fits-all membership website. Let’s discuss the various options for membership websites.

Web 2.0 Websites

One type of membership website that you are very likely familiar with is the Web 2.0 sites like YouTube and MySpace. These are social networking sites that provide tools for an interactive network of friends and include such user-submitted things as personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music and videos.

Some of these social networking membership websites have come under fire recently because they have been shown to be play grounds for predators. Since these problems have arisen there is more scrutiny of members than there has been in the past. These sites are not likely to just ‘go away’ any time in the foreseeable future because they are very, very popular… not to mention profitable.

Playing on Exclusivity

Then there are paid exclusive sites like Membership Dominators, Golf sites (which are owned by professional golfers and offer instruction that isn’t readily available free on the Internet), etc.

These exclusive membership websites are designed for specific people and appeal to a group of like-minded individuals who are seeking instruction or information that can only be had on exclusive membership websites.

They call the Internet the ‘information super highway’ but these exclusive membership websites really do make the information super and the information that is provided is far superior to just the regular stuff that everybody gets for free.

Instant Private Label Membership Sites

Membership Doninators is such a membership site. It is all about combining two popular themes: Membership Sites And Private Label Rights… Both are extremly hot topics when it comes to make money online.

With Membership Dominators you receive two complete Ready Made Membership sites with 6 month of content per site. All the hard work of thinking and creating a membership site and load it with content is already done for you. You only have to drive traffic to the membership site, which you can claime as yours and put your name on it, and collect the money! That’s a real ready made home business…

If you don’t know how to drive traffic to your new membership site, just check out my Membership Dominators Bonus where I’ll show you exactly how to drive a lot of traffic to your membership site.

Don’t Make Weight Loss and Diet Difficult

Posted on Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Brandnew

The problem with anything that is too difficult in our busy lifestyles is the fact that eventually we will stop doing what we perceive to be too hard and look for alternatives that are easier.

It’s not that we are inclined to give up when the going gets tough; It is because there are generally easier alternatives these days due to the advances that have been made over the years and in particular with weight loss there have been many advances in both nutrition and fitness training. So get ready to lose weight!

Unfortunately most diets are just too difficult for people to maintain for any length of time and that is why the failure rate is so high.

Where there are two alternatives for you to lose weight (provided of course they are genuine weight loss opportunities) then you should generally look towards the easier option as this will be the one that you will be able to continue using long enough to get your desired results. There is an idiot proof diet.

You should not feel as though you are on a diet because that in itself often means you are working hard to achieve something.

Just the word diet in itself instantly strikes fear into the minds of many people because so many times in the past they have tried various different diets and not had any long term success.

You should think more in terms of making small adjustments to your lifestyle as this is a better alternative than to think you are on a ‘diet’.

For many people ‘dieting’ is rejected in their minds eye as being something unpleasant that is hard to endure.
Improving your nutrition and fitness is not nearly as difficult to maintain as ‘dieting’

Focus on lifestyle changes rather than a reduction in food and you won’t feel like you are having to give something up that you probably enjoy.

The more difficult you make your diet the less likely you are to stick to it and succeed.

If you are constantly having to think about your diet throughout the day and keeping account of all the foods that you eat and the calories that you are counting then it becomes very difficult to maintain for the long-term and eventually those types of diets result in failure for most people.

By keeping your weight loss program simple you are going to achieve a lot better results because it allow you to get on with enjoying everyday life without having to think about food and cutting back on your food for all of your waking hours.

Even mention of the word diet has negative effects for many people because it immediately places restrictions on their lifestyle.

There are enough things to contend with in modern day life without having to constantly keep a track of what you’re eating although you do need to be aware of the types of food and the portions that you are consuming because this is what determines whether you gain or lose weight.

Healthy weight loss can be achieved quite simply by just reducing by small amounts the portions that you have at each meal even if you don’t change the types of foods you are eating.

This is generally the best way for people to start dieting as it doesn’t require anything that is too difficult and too hard to maintain for enough time to see results.

Once people see results from the weight-loss program then there is an incentive to carry on and do better and particularly if these results have come about by using simple techniques that haven’t burdened the enjoyment of life.

Before you start on any diets consider the consequences and how it will impose on your life and whether you have the type of personality that will allow you to maintain what is required for that particular program.

Buying Homes in a Down Market

Posted on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Brandnew

Buying  in a Property in a Volatile Market is a tricky proposition. Sellers are keen to get the highest prices and buyers the opposite. Everyone can see that Homes are depreciating but no one knows where the bottom of the market will be.

To a certain extent this will depend on the level of inflation created by the government’s propping up of the banking system. No one knows the true extent of the banking losses that will be incurred when the commercial real estate market collapses in 2009 as it is certain to do and exactky what the government repsonse will be. If any.

For those with Homes for sale, one option is to use a free listing site to sell your property without incurring charges. This allows one to reduce the price by not paying an agents commision. This can amount to a substantial reduction. There are already many FSBO sites.

If you are interested in buying luxury property, other options also present them selves. Many luxury only sites now exist. True luxury is hard to define, but if one wanted an Omega Seamaster Watch for example, this might be considered true luxury. Not everyone would agree, but this is true of everything and one man’s luxury is another’s necessity.

In the meantime, luxury goods purveyors are suffering from the global downturn with the rest of us and will have to wait and see how far the crash takes us and how indebted the governments are prepared to make us all.

Load Dependant Sterility Concerns in Hospital Autoclaves (South Africa)

Posted on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Brandnew

The need for sterilization by steam under increased pressure arises from the fact that the spores of many common and dangerous bacteria are strongly resistant to dry heat. The most effective way of killing these spores is by means of steam at high temperature and high humidity which will condense into their substance and moisten them thoroughly. To bring about this affect all parts of the load to be sterilized must be free of air, so that it may be permeated by the steam and the steam must be not only hot 121OC or 134OC but nearly saturated that is, it must be at a pressure so high that in spite of its high temperature it is close to the point of condensing to liquid water. Steam in this condition is termed Just Dry. Departures from this condition result in inefficient sterilizing operation!

Autoclave Pours Cycle Requirements:Air Removal:The adequate removal of air is the first essential in the sterilisation of textiles; air is removed by a vacuum pump which reduces the absolute pressure of air in the chamber to a value of a few millimetres of mercury column before steam is admitted. This is often described as drawing an almost perfect vacuum, and it means removing more than 98 percentof the air initially present. It must be emphasised that during the preconditioning stage it is imperative that the set vacuum points are met via actual chamber vacuum and not via a timing source as vacuum set points are load dependant and load variable. Departures from the recommended means of measuring vacuum set points can cause inadequate air removal.

Timing:When the steam has reached the correct set sterilizing temperate, sufficient time must be allowed for the physical changes that kill the bacteria and their spores to take place throughout the load; it is these changes that constitute the sterilizing process. Times corresponding to different temperatures have been given by Perkins as follows: 2min s at 132OC and 12min s at 121 OC.To allow for deviations in steam quality a further (safety) period is added. Adapting Perkins figures (above) Medi-Clave recommend the following times and temperatures as a minimum:4 min s at 134OC and 15 mins at 121OC.

Drying:At the end of the sterilizing phase it is necessary to dry the load without re-contaminating it.The state of dryness of the load will be fixed by the equilibrium established between the vapour pressure over the load and the pressure in the chamber the lower the chamber pressure the more rapid will be the boiling off of the water. At this stage practically no air should be present in the chamber. If dressings have not been made grossly wet by inadequately dried steam, the mere attaining of the vacuum should be sufficient to achieve drying without a need to maintain it! Medi-Clave found that with a high-vacuum sterilizer operated with dry steam, the load was back at its starting condition as regards to temperature and humidity, at the end of the sterilizing cycle.Wet Steam is a frequent cause of incomplete sterilization. It causes the dressings in the sterilizer to become soaked with moisture, usually early on in the sterilizing process. Moreover, the subsequent drying of the wet dressings is unaccomplished and it carries a serious risk of recontamination by airborne organisms that can re penetrate in to the pack.

Vacuum-Break:Air must be admitted to break the vacuum before the sterilizer is opened. This air must be drawn from a clean source through a bacteriological filter. More detail on autoclaves can be found at Medi-clave website

How to build a solar panel?

Posted on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in Brandnew

Solar panels are used to produce electricity through selective wavelengths of light. The solar panel is made from a collection of solar cells.

PV solar cells are the most common and inexpensive cells used to produce free electricity under the light of the sun. In order to determine the number of solar panels required, you have to first determine your energy requirements. For example, if you are interested in powering the entire house you would definitely need a lot of solar panels. You can save money and contribute to environmental protection when you build your own solar panel.

In order to build your own solar panel you can make use of a DIY solar panel kit. The solar cells, soldering iron, flux and tabbing are the useful components of the kit used for building a solar panel. The kit also contains detailed instructions on how to build a solar panel. You need not be an expert and simply have to follow the step-by-step instructions available with the solar panel kit.

So, are you eager to build your own solar panel?

To build a solar panel at home you just need to followings

• how to get solar panel kit

• how to increase the efficiency of solar panels
• how to estimate the amount of solar energy available to you
• ways to decide whether solar panel is right for your location
• how to save money by using solar panel systems
• how to increase the consistency of solar panels for years to come.

Just build residential solar panels and generate electricity and save more and more dollar.
