Buying a seasonal or plaid dog collar for the holidays might seem frivolous, but if you choose a good quality collar, it can last for many years. There are a few simple things that will help you purchase a seasonal dog collar that will stand the test of time (and look great too).

How to Choose a Collar That Will Last For Years

· Look for holiday dog collars made of high quality materials. That means the nylon webbing should be soft, supple, and free of damage. Materials should be color fast to avoid staining or bleeding onto a dog’s coat. Hardware should be rust-free.
· Make sure the collar fits. Ill-fitting collars are uncomfortable and unsafe. You should be able to put two fingers between the fastened collar and your dog’s neck. Leave some room for your dog to gain (or lose) weight.
